A leader's perspective...
From the intricate stone carvings of the ruins of Copan, to the ridiculously cheap diving off the Bay of Islands, Honduras offers a multitude of unforgettable travel experiences. If relaxation is more your style there´s always languishing in a hammock, nursing a Salva Vida beer and watching the sunset. However, it´s the kindness of the people that made my trip to Honduras so memorable, especially the passing motorist who rescued two backpackers on a lonely highway one sweltering afternoon. Our kind benefactor was the owner of a vast coffee and tobacco plantation. He overwhelmed us with 'Catracho' hospitality, taking us to sample the delicious and aromatic coffee from his plantation. Later he took us on a guided tour of his cigar factory, where we learnt the intricacies of 'chomping stogies'!
